How to Ship with us:
Request a Rate Quote
The first step in shipping is to request a rate quote from one of our
customer service representatives either by calling 1-800-331-3522 or by
filling out our on-line Rate Quote Request Form. Please refer to our sailing schedule for voyage dates.
Request a Booking
Once you have decided when you will be shipping, request a reservation
or a booking, for the voyage that you want to ship on, either by calling
1-800-331-3522, or by filling out our on-line Booking Request Form.
Please refer to our shipping schedule for voyage dates. You will
need the following information when requesting a booking: Shipper,
Consignee (who the freight is being shipped to) and the Bill To Party,
freight description, preferably with weight and length measurements, and
the approximate delivery date and time.
Drop the freight off at the terminal
Shipper loaded containers cut off is the Wednesday prior to sailing, all
other freight the Tuesday prior to sailing. Upon arrival you will be
asked to fill out a Bill of Lading, information required:
Shipper, Consignee, Bill To Party, description of the goods to be
shipped and payment method. Bills of Lading are available at the
terminal or on line.
Payment Options:
Prepays
Shipments of Vehicles, Household Goods, and Boats are items that need to
be prepaid prior to loading to the barge. This can be done either at
the port that you are dropping the freight off at, or at the port that
the vehicle is going to. Payments may be made in the forms of cash,
check, or credit card.
Freight Collect
For shipments besides those listed above, the freight collect option is
one that most customers prefer. When we send a shipment freight collect,
it simply gets received and billed out, the consignee must pay the
freight charges prior to the release of the freight at it's destination.
Third Party Billing
Lastly if you can't make it to drop the freight off, or to pick the
freight up, you can get a rate from a customer service representative
and send a check based on that rate. Please call our toll free number
for more details on this. 800.331.3522
Special Instructions for vehicles:
Coast Guard regulations require that vehicles need to have 1/4 tank of gas, or less, when loaded for shipping.
Please make sure that the person shipping the car stays while we do an
inspection noting any pre existing condition of the vehicle.
Once the inspection has been signed and the payment has been made the
vehicle will be loaded to a container, so long as it does not jeopardize
the condition of the vehicle, and be loaded to the barge for the next
sailing.
You may load household goods into the vehicle, please leave room for the
driver's seat and note that the release value is $.10 per pound.
The following articles may NOT be shipped in your vehicle: Hazardous
Materials, Items of Extraordinary Value, Goods Shipped for Sale or
Speculation, or Firearms.
If the vehicle is overloaded to the point that it is a safety hazard the
materials must be removed until it is safe. These items may be
consolidated at the warehouse for an additional charge.
Due to various after factory add-ons, we cannot guarantee that any
vehicle will be loaded into a container until it arrives at our
terminal. The terminal foreman will determine the safest way to ship the
vehicle.
